Griffith’s Valuation
No Ruddens were listed on the 1861 Griffith’s Valuation record. However, we know there was at least one Rudden family living in Clonrigh/Clonrye/Clinrigh by 1866. The below screenshot from the 1866 parish register shows the marriage of a John Rudden & Catherine McInulty. John was resident in Clonrigh and the record confirms his parents, Patrick Rudden and Elizabeth Brady, were also resident in Clonrigh. Patrick was a labourer so would not have had a plot of land to farm, hence no mention on the Griffith’s Valuation record.
