I too am glad to see this Rudden site up and running again, thank you.
My grandad was Robert Rudden born in Halifax, Yorkshire, England in 1890. His father was John Rudden born approx 1858, his mother was Mary Kelly born approx 1848 in Yorkshire as well, they were married in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1886. John was last seen in the 1901 English census in London but grandad said that his father John left the family and no one knew where he ended up. After WW1 grandad married in 1921 and emigrated to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

My great grandfather was the John Rudden you mention. He was born 1859 as you mention, and married a Mary Kelly. They moved to Newcastle in UK , and had my grandmother, Mary. I have him listed in the 1891, 1901, and 1911 census records. He eventually ended up in Shoreditch, east London, but I have no idea what happened to him from there on…no death certificate can be found online in the UK.
Due to the lack of census records in Ireland for the time around his birth, I have no idea of his background in Ireland other than he was born in Cavan, Cavan.
I was born in 1944, in the Shoredithch area of London…..
any info would be appreciated
